Ava's Baptism Celebration

On Sunday, June 9, 2013 our Lil' Peanut was baptized. The day was full of precious moments and the fellowship of friends and family making for a wonderful celebration.

All ready for the Baptism... Ava was wonderful through out the whole service. She was making happy noises all the way up until Father Michael dripped the water over her head. Can't say I blame her for that :) Mom held Wyatt up front so he could see all the action. To be honest I think the whole ceremony just confused him - he gets yelled at during bath time for doing what Michael did to Ava and yet we smiled about it!

After the service we had friends and family over to the new house. Between the preparation on the house like getting the pictures hung on the walls and the deck built, to having the house full of happy voices and laughter all weekend. Having a party FINALLY made this feel like home!

Happy Easter

pictures to come... I can't find my camera cord!

Easter morning The Easter Bunny hopped by 6174 Fawnlake Court. Wyatt was ecstatic to find a trail of Easter eggs leading from his room all the way down to his Easter basket complete with a Thomas the Train remote control engine! Ava was happy too, she got her very own Sophie. Nothin' says happy teething baby like soft rubber giraffes that squeak.

Easter carries with it a personal significance for John and I. Three years ago on Easter Sunday we found out we were pregnant with Wyatt. Fast forward to this year and here we are, rushing to get to church on time with two beautiful babies. God had us wait a long time for this, and now that we have our complete family I couldn't be more thankful.

We used this Sunday to officially re-join Hickory Neck Church. Now that we live in New Kent it is only a 25 minute drive back to the church I grew up in, we were married in, Wyatt was baptized in and on June 6th Ava will be baptized there too!

After church Marnier and Grady joined us for brunch at home - we made deviled eggs, croissant wrapped chicken salad shaped like carrots, ham biscuits and mimosas. YUMMMM! Wyatt had an Easter Egg hunt in the living room since it was pouring rain outside. With all the Easter candy and excitement Wyatt started bouncing off the walls. So that evening the Lil'Man went outside in his rain boots, jacket and beanie to SPLISH, SPLASH, SPLOSH in every puddle he could find. What a way to burn some energy.

All in all, our Easter was just what it should have been... Church, Family and Easter Eggs!

And the Work Continues...

Well I was holding this until I had pictures but now a month later and I still can't find the camera cord! So I'll add them later :)

After two and a half months of waiting our yard is FINALLY getting done! When we closed on our house the weather had been really bad, rain coupled with snow making for a sloppy mess around our new place. We agreed with the contractor that we'd wait until the lot dried out to do the yard.

Now here is the lesson learned: DO NOT move in to a house and pay the man until the job is 100% finished!

The yard was suppose to be done in March and now here we are in the middle of April. The contractor is getting it done... but when the check has already been paid your place on the priority list falls down the list pretty fast!

Unfortunalty for John the week they've decided to roll in with dump trucks is his week on Night Shift. So besides the lack of sleep, we are so happy this is happening.

Lil'Ava Bean is 6 Months

She's made it half way around the sun, half a year old, and all I can think is has it been that long already? It was my turn to take Ava for her 6 month well baby check up at Chester Peds. Her measurements were right on track. She is in the 95% for her height and between the 50th and 75th % for her weight and head circumference. Dr. Polensheck (whom we LOVE) says she's a tall, lean little thing and is developing just fine. The poor thing had to get 4 vaccinations that day. The first was oral, which she didn't seem to mind, but the next three were shots in the legs. You would have thought she was being attacked with as loud as she hollered. I felt so sorry for her, she went from "life is grand" to "WTF, Mommy that nurse lady is trying to kill me and your just letting it happen!"Ava cried from the moment she got the shots clear home - which is an hour away! By the time I finally got her back to the house I was the one that needed a shot!

Ava broke her first two teeth this month and learned a new trick. The days of putting Ava down and knowing she won't go anywhere are done, our lives just got way more interesting. This month Ava learned how to roll. She's like a little barrel. You'll put her down in the middle of the room and a second later she's made it off the blanket and across the room.
