We celebrate the spirit of Christmas by giving "our village" gifts to show our gratitude -- especially to those who protect and teach our kiddos. Then the question is: What to give them that shows that we care, that won't be a repeat gift? Here are the gifts we gave this year.
For Wyatt's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Williams -
Wyatt decided to stick a pencil up his month about a week before we gave his teacher this gift. The pencil episode ended with a trip to the children's ER and a little concern, but in the end everything turned out fine! So for her I made a pencil holder made out of pencils and full of candy. Best of all it was topped off with a very personalized cautionary note courtesy of Wyatt.
For the teachers at Ava's Preschool and Wyatt's before/after care; Mrs. Shelley, Mrs. Kristy + Mrs. Cindy -
This school has literally been a Godsend for us! This week's blessing is that they are OPEN ALL WEEK! We know this means that the last minute Christmas rush for these amazing women is even harder... Imagine handling all those kids with visions of sugar plums dancing through their heads. Since we could not Saint them, this last minute survival kit had to suffice -- complete with a custom poem.
(After hand writing all these notes I realized it's a "cup of jo" - Not "joe" - think they noticed? at that point I didn't have time to re-do - I guess done is better than perfect!)
